Lost Works Project

This show is part of Working Man's Clothes Lost Works Project

In our ongoing quest to bring new and original theatre to New York City, we discovered that there are a number of successful, published, often critically acclaimed plays by established, prominent playwrights that have never been produced in New York.

Why?

The individual reasons vary but the answer usually boils down to "not commercially viable" or "the material is too risky." Often, for a variety of reasons these plays are difficult to stage and in turn keep potential producers at bay.

Never one to back down from a challenge, Working Man's Clothes decided to find and bring these plays to the Independent Theatre of New York City and give them the presentation they deserve. In this endeavor we have already found ourselves provoked, tested, and moved by the material we have uncovered.

As we strive to bring these "Lost Works" to fruition in New York, we hope you too will be challenged and inspired.
